Long Term Addiction Treatment

Our signature treatment platform.

The Extended Care Program at Lighthouse is a nationally-recognized, intensive, six to twelve-month treatment program designed to build foundational integrity in one’s sobriety. Through a combination of supportive housing (Sober Living), a psychiatric evaluation and ongoing psychiatric support, tailored clinical services (Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient), and life-skills coaching, this program focuses not solely on Substance Abuse issues but co-occurring Mental Health disorders and underlying addiction drivers such as shame and trauma.

Additionally, the Extended Care Program focuses heavily on a custom-built life-skills curriculum, whereby individuals with “failure-to-launch” will graduate with budgeting and financial literacy, time management, and conflict management skills, amongst many other modalities.

We are selective in our application process and keep our living environment, and clinical group sizes minimal (8 per versus an industry average of 15-24). This program (like others at Lighthouse) is designed to be adaptable to the needs of each client and their family. We ensure this by operating with an industry-leading staff-to-client ratio and designing in-house curriculums.

Holistic, comprehensive, and individualized.

Extended Care is necessary for clients that have had difficulty staying sober after prior Treatment episodes, for those suffering from “failure to launch,” or for those needing long-term accountability and structure.

The time spent in Lighthouse’s Extended Care program varies per individual, ranging in length from six to eighteen months.

Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Month 1

The first month in the Extended Program at Lighthouse is highly structured for individuals who need to build confidence in their sobriety. We’ll provide you with the necessary tools, support, knowledge, and, most importantly, real-world application. We employ staff specializing in a wide range of modalities, allowing us to provide a more comprehensive approach. Our curriculum is not an off-the-shelf model; it’s been designed entirely in-house, from scratch, using our team’s decades of cumulative experience.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Months 2-5

At Lighthouse Recovery, we believe that an Intensive Outpatient Program should provide a foundation for sobriety and fulfilling life in recovery. Our approach is tailored to assess the client’s needs and then build a clinical program that supports the individual’s goals. The IOP level of care gives clients the tools and more opportunities for practical application and builds on the progress made in the PHP Program. With extra time in the week, clients may be volunteering, working, or returning to school during this period.

Sober Living

Months 1-6+

Sober Living is a critical element of the Extended Care Program – allowing clients the ability to reintegrate back into work or school slowly and, all the while, build the relationships and skills they’ll need for long-term success in sobriety. As part of the Lighthouse Extended Care Program, each resident receives an individualized “progress-based” program, a variety of in-house community-based groups, family case management, and several recreational activities per month, to name a few.

Recovery Coaching

Months 6-12+

As each step forward in the treatment process leaves individuals without the support of the prior, our program is designed to help build a solid foundation by which individuals can achieve short and long-term goals in a format best suited for them. Successful completion of Recovery Coaching is the last piece of the Extended Care Program. Coaches update the family weekly to discuss progress and address any new concerns. We value the family’s input and encourage their participation in the program.
