What inspired you to choose this profession?

I always knew, even as a little girl that I wanted to work in a profession where I would get to help people and make a difference. It’s because of my own journey through drug and alcohol addiction that I fell into addiction treatment. I know what it’s like first hand to feel incredibly hopeless and like there is no way out. I also know that once you get to the other side life can be better than you ever imagined and I’m honored to be a part of that first step in getting you there.

What would you want someone to know about working with you?

I’m very passionate about what I do and it doesn’t start and stop at the client. In the addiction industry, there are a lot of options to choose from and because of that, ensuring that people are receiving high-quality care from an ethical agency with a compassionate and caring staff is very important to me – whether it’s with Lighthouse or not. Because I work here I can honestly say with my whole heart that we surpass that standard. Every person who calls in whether it be someone calling for themselves or a family member is equally important.

Why Lighthouse?

I believe quality of treatment, good or bad starts at the top with its leadership which then bleeds into the staff, which in turn leaves a lasting impression on the client. The leadership here at Lighthouse is par to none and that includes their dedication to the clients and their staff. Lighthouse creates a client first culture almost like none I’ve ever seen and when it comes to dealing with a deadly and stigmatized disease like substance use disorder, creating that atmosphere is extremely important for clients getting well.

What do you wish people knew about Lighthouse who might be hesitant?

I understand how hard it is to reach out for help and how much harder it can be to accept that help, but there is so much freedom and hope on the other side! Miracles happen every day but it takes action and willingness on our part and Lighthouse will help you get there.
