Andy Cristodoru serves as a Group and Individual Clinician at Lighthouse Recovery, where he provides therapy for clients working toward healthier patterns, improved well-being, and greater stability in their lives. He holds a Master of Science in Adult Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNT Dallas and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Washington. Andy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Texas. He joined Lighthouse as an intern in 2023 and transitioned into a full therapist role in 2024 – a path that reflects his commitment to developing real clinical skill before stepping fully into the work.
“I chose this work because people deserve support, and I believe that with the right tools and environment, real change can happen.”
Andy’s journey into mental health began about a decade ago, when he watched three people close to him struggle in their recovery. Despite wanting to help, he realized he was unprepared to offer the kind of support they needed. That experience became a catalyst – sparking his interest in the field and motivating him to develop the skills necessary to walk alongside people through difficult seasons with steadiness and clarity. Over time, he discovered how much he values investing in others, forming intentional relationships, and helping people identify practical steps toward meaningful change.
At Lighthouse, Andy brings a grounded, disciplined approach to both individual and group therapy. He develops personalized treatment plans, facilitates group discussions that promote peer support and shared experience, and helps clients build the recovery skills and coping strategies they need to sustain change beyond treatment. His earlier career in high-pressure environments – including mortgage lending and financial compliance – taught him how to stay focused, meet deadlines, and manage complexity, skills that translate well into clinical work. Andy’s combination of personal conviction, professional training, and genuine care for clients makes him a valuable part of the Lighthouse clinical team.
