Austin Brown
Admissions Coordinator
“I know what it’s like to struggle with who you are. Lighthouse helped me get to a place of confidence and self-acceptance, and I want to help others get there too.”
Austin Brown serves as Admissions Coordinator at Lighthouse Recovery, where he’s often the first voice families hear when they reach out for help. In this role, Austin guides prospective clients and their families through the admissions process – answering questions, explaining how treatment works, and helping people take a step that often feels overwhelming. He graduated from Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business in 2011 with a BBA in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate, and spent over a decade building a career in real estate investment, brokerage, and development in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. That background taught him how to listen, build trust quickly, and help people navigate high-stakes decisions.
Austin is a Lighthouse alumnus. He came through the Extended Care program himself, and later returned as a House Manager where he worked directly with clients on their own recovery journeys. That progression – from client to staff – gives him a unique perspective on what families are going through when they first call. He knows how hard it is to ask for help, and he knows what’s possible on the other side. Austin is active in AA and sponsors young men who are trying to get their lives back on track, work he considers an extension of what Lighthouse gave him.
Austin now lives in Lake Highlands with his wife Charlotte, their two kids Caden and Abigail, and their golden doodle Biscuit. His natural ability to connect with people and create lasting relationships makes him well-suited for the role he’s in – meeting families at one of the most difficult moments of their lives and helping them see a path forward.
