Insert bioJose Torres serves as a Group and Individual Clinician at Lighthouse Recovery, where he provides group and individual counseling for clients navigating addiction and recovery. Jose is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 16 years of experience in the substance use disorder treatment field. His clinical background spans both residential and outpatient settings, giving him a comprehensive understanding of what clients need at different stages of their recovery journey. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Studies at the University of North Texas.
“My mission is to meet people with respect, honesty, and hope, helping them discover their own strength, build resilience, and create lasting recovery. I am committed to helping people achieve real, lasting recovery through honest, transparent guidance, compassionate accountability, and the hard truths that lead to meaningful change.”
Jose’s path into this work is deeply personal. He has been impacted by alcoholism and addiction within his own family, and during his service in the United States Marine Corps, he became aware of his own struggles with alcohol. Those experiences – combined with the influence of a meaningful mentor early in his life – shaped his desire to help others navigate similar challenges. Rather than let those struggles define him, Jose channeled them into a career dedicated to supporting others through their own recovery.
At Lighthouse, Jose brings his years of clinical experience together with that personal understanding. He has implemented innovative programming throughout his career, including structured fitness components and multi-family group therapy in residential settings, and has effectively adapted to telehealth and hybrid group formats in outpatient care. His commitment to supporting individuals in their recovery and personal growth, grounded in both professional training and lived experience, makes him a valued member of the Lighthouse clinical team.
