Paco Gomez
Recovery Coach
“Compassionate care is the foundation of addiction recovery. My job is to understand each person’s condition so I can meet them where they are.”
Paco serves as a Recovery Coach at Lighthouse where he supports clients through the daily work of building a life in recovery. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Counseling at East Texas A&M University and brings a background in psychology to his clinical approach. Paco has been part of the Lighthouse team for over two years, working in several roles including Assistant House Manager and House Manager before stepping into his current position as Recovery Coach. He also completed a practicum internship at Chapter House, where he shadowed therapists in their Intensive Outpatient Program – experience that deepened his understanding of clinical work and prepared him for the next stage of his career.
Paco’s own recovery journey shapes how he connects with the clients he serves. He understands what early recovery feels like from the inside, and that perspective allows him to meet people where they are with genuine empathy rather than clinical distance. For Paco, compassionate care is at the forefront of addiction recovery, and he believes that truly helping someone requires understanding their condition – not just clinically, but personally.
His combination of academic training, lived experience, and time spent in multiple roles at Lighthouse gives him a well-rounded perspective on what clients need at different stages of their journey. Paco is grateful for the opportunity to share his own experiences in service of others – and he’s building toward a career as a licensed counselor so he can continue doing this work at a deeper level.
