At 30 years old I found myself having to find an entirely new career path. My old career and recovery couldn’t coexist. I wasn’t interested in working in the recovery industry and took a job out of necessity. I quickly found it to be exactly what I was supposed to be doing with my life. I honestly couldn’t imagine doing anything else. As my mentor always says, “we have been blessed with front row seats to miracles.”

What inspired you to choose this profession?
What would you want someone to know about working with you?
This isn’t a “job” for me… this is my passion, my purpose and I consider working with the families and helping them heal just as important as working with the clients. Having lost my mother before I found recovery, I consider it a “living amends to her” to help families in need. We are here and we are ready to help.
Lighthouse is the brainchild after years of running, implementing, and creating programming for providers spending day in and day out thinking “how can I do this better?” We have done it better and continue to improve daily.
What do you wish people knew about Lighthouse who might be hesitant to try it?
My father told me when I started working in this field to “never forget that these families are trusting you with their most prized possession… their loved one.” I make sure that all staff carry that philosophy with us each and every day.
